Samika Gupta

I am a first year CSE PhD student at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. I am advised by Dr H.V. Jagadish. I am a member of the Database Group. My research interests lie in Databases and other Data Science and Ethics related problems. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in May 2022 with a BS in Computer Science and Data Science and a certificate in Environmental Studies.

In my free time, I am a Ceramic Artist and venture into other art mediums. I also enjoy watching Esports and TV shows and dramas in my free time. Here is the link to my Ceramics Instagram account.

Influence of Topology and Intervention Methods in Epidemiological Contact Networks (Undergraduate Project)

This project explores different methods to spread infections through various types of networks by making different modifications to network properties and network setups:

Different network specific functions and modification capabilities (ER, WS, BA, SBM)

Different contagion strategies to spread infection in network (simple spread or spread with recovery)

Different vaccination strategies implemented in networks (random, contact tracing, follow link, prioritize)

Introducing different methods of developing hesitancy to vaccinations
